Forget Myself and Go to Work

I just finished watching this video about a kid who was going to start 8th grade and for the majority of his life has hated his world and his challenges. When the video was over, all I could think about is how much I wish I could tell him about the gospel. This gospel holds the power to change lives because it is true. The living gospel is here and apart of my life. There is more than the petty challenges of middle school and high school. There is more to life than everything you know. I am so excited to go to church every Sunday because it makes me stronger, and through the spirit I know what I need to do to become a better person. The Christmas Devotional put on by the first presidency was absolutely beautiful. I know Heavenly Father loves me and blesses me everyday. All He asks in return is that we serve our fellow man and be the answer to someone's prayer. I pray that I can be open enough to know when someone needs my help. The times in my life I have been truly happy, have been the times when I forgot myself and served another. I worried about their happiness rather than my own. Those times of true happiness have been few because I worry about my own problems too much, but I testify to you that keeping others in mind is wonderful. Loving others is wonderful. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, for those of you who do not know, and I am very proud of that fact. If you would like to know more, here is the link of the LDS website (lds.org). It can change your life, if you let it.
