Unexpected Life

It has been too long since I've written which means that I have TONS to talk about. First, I have a story about what happened at Claires the other day. This lady comes up to the register, ready to check out, and when I see her I say "You look just like my aunt." She replys, "Thank you? I'm not sure whether thats a good or bad thing." I continue ringing her out, but the more I look at her the more familiar she looks. I finally ask "what is your name?" "Tracy." "You are my aunt!!!" My coworkers give me that look of "holy crap your crazy" and they say "You dont know your aunt?" It was a hilarious moment that I hope never to forget. The funniest part is that her husband is my favorite uncle! I still remember being ecstatic to see him when I was a little girl, which is weird for me because I dont remember much of my childhood at all. Moving on, a few weeks ago I was in a mood to cook alot and I made samoas bars with lindy, chocolate chip cookie dough brownies, and shepherds pie within 3 days of eachother. The samoas bars took lindy and I two hours but holy crap were they delicious! The chocoalte chip cookie dough brownies were ok, but I've had better desserts. I have pictures on my phone but I cant figure out how to post them. Anyway, for those of you who have not met my niece, she is the cutest thing on the face of the planet and she just turned 1 on the 24th! Anytime you ask her for a kiss she sticks out her tongue and says "baahhh!!!!" She also loves to point to things and start talking in gibberish, it's quite wonderful. I start school January 4th and move in day is the 2nd. I'M SOO EXCITED!!!! I really hope I can save money the next two semesters. I plan on going to Guatemala before I go on my mission so I really need to save all that I can. By the way, the Guatemalan temple is GORGEOUS (it's the picture above). Do you ever randomly break out in accents? Lately I have been starting to talk in accents more when it gets late and most of the time I dont really notice. I think I make life interesting for some people and I like that I'm different. In Illinois I hated it because no one really appreciated how weird I was but people here love it! I'm so grateful that I could have the friends and family that I do.

Forget Myself and Go to Work

I just finished watching this video about a kid who was going to start 8th grade and for the majority of his life has hated his world and his challenges. When the video was over, all I could think about is how much I wish I could tell him about the gospel. This gospel holds the power to change lives because it is true. The living gospel is here and apart of my life. There is more than the petty challenges of middle school and high school. There is more to life than everything you know. I am so excited to go to church every Sunday because it makes me stronger, and through the spirit I know what I need to do to become a better person. The Christmas Devotional put on by the first presidency was absolutely beautiful. I know Heavenly Father loves me and blesses me everyday. All He asks in return is that we serve our fellow man and be the answer to someone's prayer. I pray that I can be open enough to know when someone needs my help. The times in my life I have been truly happy, have been the times when I forgot myself and served another. I worried about their happiness rather than my own. Those times of true happiness have been few because I worry about my own problems too much, but I testify to you that keeping others in mind is wonderful. Loving others is wonderful. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, for those of you who do not know, and I am very proud of that fact. If you would like to know more, here is the link of the LDS website (lds.org). It can change your life, if you let it.

Youtube Videos

I keep thinking how no one ever knows what I'm talking about except for two of my sisters and you know why that is? People dont watch enough youtube videos! First off, if you do not watch Kid History, START! It is amazing, funny, and appropriate. Here is the first episode:

Also, if you didnt know, they have started doing "remixes" so you need to watch the one they have done FUNNIEST THING EVER!!!!! (plus I quote it all the time)

I also just got started watching "bad lip reading" videos because my amazing manager showed me the one to Friday by Rebecca Black :

Seriously, watch it.  I was also going to talk today what a discussion my sister and I were having last Saturday. People have told her this is weird but if you hate a song and you cant change the channel, why not just sing the whole song to make the song go by faster? It always seems that the songs you hate, you know EVERY word to so why not jam out? Anyway, I wanted to give a shoutout to my sisters. All of my sisters are pretty amazing and SOOOOO different. Tyrie is so responsible, strong and pretty much good at everything she does. Thacia is stubborn (which can be good and bad), loyal, fun, funny and energetic. I have loved writing her on her mission and helping her get through everything she has to go through. Lindy is pretty much the only person I hang out with and I feel like she is the perfect mixture of Thacia and I. Sometimes we have our bad moments but for the most part we joke around and have fun in only ways that we can. Stella is so loving and generous. Mamie gives compliments to anyone and everyone around her, making them feel special. She is also very empathetic. Miranda is incredibly loyal and loves her fashion. She is incredibly positive for what she has been through, and I look up to her for her courage. Ashtyn is the baby of the family for those who dont know and she tries so hard. She looks up to all of us and is gradually learning about herself. She is a super cute girl that is social and loving. If only she would listen to my fashion sense. Now the most important person in my life is my mom. She is the most amazing person I know and I dont care who says their mom is awesome, my mom knows more. She is super smart and right about everything. I dont know what I would do if I could never see her again. I may not tell her but her opinion is really all that matters to me and I could never even consider a guy she didnt approve.

Blessed

I want to start off by saying how incredibly grateful I am for the people that I have in my life. For one, the people I work with at Downeast are incredible. I was throwing up all last night and today and they were so understanding. Even though Emily and Lexi worked already, they figured out a way for me not to come in and I dont think they understand how grateful I am for them. I also am blessed to have worthy priesthood holders in my life that are willing to come give me a blessing when I need it. I love my step-dad, Don, because he is one of those worthy priesthood holders that has always been there when I needed him. I love my sisters because very few people understand me and it is nice to have them in my life. I got a letter from Thacia today (she is on her mission in Salt Lake City) and she said that it is nice to read letters from Lindy and I because no one on her mission thinks like we do so they cant make her laugh. I just feel so blessed to have an amazing family, a job I love, the true gospel in my life, and opportunities to serve others.
